Default K6 Minitwin Exhaust Advice

Hi all

I'm building a minitwin from a k6 and am after some exhaust advice.

Basically which exhaust would you recommend?

I ask as on a K6 you have to remove the silencer, which is part of the downpipes, so is it easier to buy a set of down pipes to replace the ones I have and put an end can on or do I cut off the original silencer and fit an end can onto the originals?

My concern is that the pipe where you cut the silencer from is about 54mm diameter, which seems pretty big to get an aftermarket can for?

Thanks for your help

Cheers
Stuart

You have to remove the silencer by cutting it off on all 2nd gens at least not sure about 1st gens, there's hundreds of aftermarket slip ons that include a link pipe to slot over the chopped downpipe.

Stu, from the little i know for performance gains then a full M4 system is the one to go for, if its allowed in minitwins?

Otherwise I'm not sure you'll gain much from just the end can, although if the k6 has a cat, then you should benefit by getting rid of that?

M4 is the bees knees exhaust wise, pretty hard to get hold of 2nd hand and they need to be ordered from the states off ebay so you will be hit with import taxes.

Hi guys
Thanks for your advice.
At this stage I will be looking for a link pipe, then maybe next year get a full system, hoping to get her ready for Thruxton as a sort of shake down.
Will keep my eyes open for any decent offers.
Cheers
Stuart
