Photo a Day 2014 (if possible)

Ooh I like that idea, I'll give it a try and see how I manage. I can see myself knocking it on something and dropping it on the floor (I've lost two charges already, was reluctant to buy a replacement but I'm trying to be more careful with this one)

Managed to give myself two small blisters with melted paracord (because of the closeness of the working (and my ineptitude mainly)) but got the hang of it for fusing the last bits together to hold the shape

Mine is from our Holiday in Lyme Regis. I've been wanting to try and get the Milky Way for ages, but living in the North West, there's always tons of light pollution that ruins the sky. This year, the plan had been to go to Lulworth Cove and have a go there, but the weather wasn't playing ball. The moon has to be almost none existent to stop it spoiling the image. The middle weekend of the trip looked perfect, the moon was at it's smallest and it was scheduled for clear weather. Come the weekend though, the days were scorching hot and the evenings hazy and unclear. I decided not to bother driving so had a beer and went to the Cobb in Lyme Regis instead which took me less than a five minute walk. I'm not that pleased with the result, the sky was hazy and the Milky Way moved really fast! I was surprised just how much it moved to the point where I decided on a shot, walked around to frame it and the bleeein' thing had wandered off to a different part of the sky! Anyway, here's my first edit, it'll do for a first go I guess.

I'm a bit behind catching up on peoples photos due to holiday. Some great shots as usual. Loved the combine by Brettus and all of Richie's photos. This one caught my eye though, just goes to show that patience and planning have to go into a great shot as well as skill.

Mine today was taken at Kensington Palace Gardens. The Org Soho ladies surprised Cazza with afternoon tea for her birthday and this is a shot I set up afterwards and then once I'd got everyone in place and the camera settings perfect I asked a passing Spanish tourist to press the shutter and ran into shot.



Those who are friends with me on Facebook will be able to see the rest of the pics on there, I'm not sure we'll be allowed back into the Palace somehow!

I set off to meet a load of lovely Orgers today for Cazza's birthday lunch, complete with birthday cakes..



After 2 hours I'd managed to travel 8 of the 88 miles of my journey because of accident on the A12 so had to give up and go home as everyone else was already in the pub. Then it took me another 45 minutes to get back through Chelmsford to my home under a mile away because of flash flooding. What an utterly frustrating day.
