Default Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact

hi guys,

i'm looking for some new boots for my 88 fzr 1000 ( 120 70 r17 front and 160 60 r18 rear). The tyres will be used for everything from trackdays to riding 2up, tho i'd prefer the tyres to be more towards the performance side of things

sadly the rear being a 18" limits my tyre choice to:

pireilli angel gt
pilot road 3
bt 016 pro
bt 023
t30
conti road attack 2
dunlop roadsmart 2
avon storm 3d
metzeler roadtec z6
metzeler roadtec z8 interact

i've got a set of avons on my sv that came on the bike and seem to have worn out fairly quickly( around 4k ) and been a bit vague on the front, now the rear is worn it spins up quite easilly.

out of the list i'm most edging towards the z8's, angel gt's and pr3's

i cant seem to find out much on the metzeler other than one visordown review from a year or two ago.

the angel gt seem to be like on here and else where like wise the pr3's.

any opinion and experiance would be great

many thanks chris

I had z6's on my sv, before my gsxr swap.

very good, both wet and dry, long lasting, predictable, good grip

used them on track days, and got my knee down no problem.

would i buy them again, hell yes, the Z8's are more up to date, so id go with those no problem.

Would say my Daytona Z8 shod would in the damp easily spin up the back tyre. Nothing un predicable but not as good as the Metzeler M 5 it wore previously.

The first Z8. I think they revised the compound to the M because of the feedback.
It's worth having a gripe because Metzeler give you a voucher.

I had Z8s on the SV650, now replaced with PR4. I had wheel spin issues on wet roads, under conditions when no previous bike or tyre would have done (like at 50mph in fourth). I've no idea whether mine was the (M) version or not, I don't remember being offered a choice.

I put a pair of Pirelli Angel GTs on my SV towards the end of last summer. Plenty of grip for commuting in the wet up in the frozen north.

Not been on any long tours or track days with them though.

Running Z8s on my K1600 and I love them, not been on the track nor even try to get my knee down on this bike but can say that I run them to the edge with no worries (no chicken strips)

They seam to be better behaved when you are past 20 /30 ' angle.
Mine gentle squirt round the bend, and as I was rolling on as you exit. Sliding
