I'm an old fogy that got left behind on PC games years ago. Still play the Age of Empires games, Medal of Honor and Sudden Strike.

Anybody here pew-pewing about on Elite: Dangerous?

Only pre-ordered myself. Never played the much revered original or sequels.

Looks tough and looks like it will take a bit of learning. Although I have a lot of experience waggling my stick.

Very very pretty too. Which helps.

I pre ordered Elite Dangerous.
Looks good, very pretty and as you say quite a learning curve.
You'll enjoy.

I played lots of Elite when I was growing up, had a BBC Micro

I am likely going to buy a gaming PC just so I can play ED to be honest. I'd stopped with the gaming PC thing quite some time back and moved to laptops for general use....this will pull me back in for sure.

Head tracking, voice commands, and VR headsets...bring it on!

I'll wait and get the game once it's been out for a bit, likely Jan/Feb time once I can justify a new "development" PC for my company

For now I'll have to settle for YT vids of others playing

Folk seem to be pleased that it is pretty well optomised for a broad range of machines. Nice.

My PC is decent but a coupla years old so expecting to still run high settings.

K, that will be one of those machines where the GFX card (s!) is more expensive than the whole rest of it. Sweet.

Downloading the pre-order "gift" combat tutorial the nicht. "Shan't be long dear!"
