Re: Santa
Santa does exist. I 've been him and it was bloody awesome.
Next year my son will get to become Santa for that one magical night a year. (grandkid on the way!!!) I really like Christmas.

Re: Santa
I think your kids might grow up and resent that they never had the father christmas stories. If your wifeis taking the moral highground and possibly thinks that she'll never lie to your kids about anything, then I bet she'll be dissapointed. There are loads of things you lie about or keep from the kids as they grow up.
Father Christmas is probably the least worrying of all of these. Go on let them enjoy the story. |

Re: Santa
Mrs Terah's issue with it is more the fact that when she was older and started to question it her folks didn't 'fess up so she ended up feeling lied to.
We've settled on a more pro Santa approach for now which is that we'll go with the flow so long as the wife doesn't have to outright lie. Give that the 3yr is very much at the 'Why? Why? Why?' stage I guess that means I'll be fielding all the questions. |

Re: Santa
What?! But... so who's shacked up with the tooth fairy?
Anna nailed it for me. If your child knows the truth it will mean other children will find out too... their parents might not appreciate that if their kids are really young. Better for kids to find out from older children in the playground.

Re: Santa
It was just a film Robert. Stop giving everyone false hope. Santa is not real.

Re: Santa
I'm actually Santa (a fake one, because he's not real). I eat everyone's stuff.
