Anyone watch Saving Gazza?
Just watched it this morning - have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Sheryl, I had her down as uncaring but she really seems to worry about him.
I know he'd said recently in the papers he was disgusted by Sheryl *using* his son Regan to get to him, but he did agree to this documentary it appears. I hope he gets himself together it's a real shame. |

Re: Anyone watch Saving Gazza?
And here was me thinking this was a thread about Isreal's unjust and one-sided war against the peoples in Gaza.

I watched this and thought that she came across really well, looks like he has really f***ed those kids up mentally though.
He was such a genius on the field, it is a shame to see anyone like this. |

Re: Anyone watch Saving Gazza?
I watched it but was in two minds over whether to or not. Whilst I think it is a massive shame what has happened to the guy and Sheryl came across very well I wonder what the real motivation behind the programme.

I honestly think she's trying to shock Gazza out of it by doing this *intervention style* documentary. |

Re: Anyone watch Saving Gazza?
No doubt Gazza was a great footballer, my Dad looked quite affected by it, a player he has watched play from a young age and watched him now fall.
When I started playing football I remember trying to base myself on players like him and Paul Ince. I once saw him playing funny bugg3rs at a World Cup or Euro, made people watching and team mates chuckle at things like that, he was the one who thought up the song game at Euro 96 with the press. Just the kind of funny man he was and the funny man his lovers fell for. The obvious motivation behind the program is to break the guy apart. I do hope that this will not turn into a George Best case. So much to give to the footballing world still IMO. Last edited by plowsie; 06-01-09 at 12:29 PM. |
