Clipons + barends
The thieving ghets that stole my SV and crashed it managed to bend the barends.
I've pretty much finished rebuilding the bike now (eventually got there) and bought some R&G barends to fit instead. Problem is, the right hand side one doesn't seem to have any thread left to screw into. Is there a cheap fix or should I just buy a second hand clipon and replace it? |

Re: Clipons + barends
Hmm, I never realised that the barends were threaded. Mine don't appear to have threads in them, they just kind of lock in with the bolt on the outside of the barend.

Yeah the barends themselves are just shaped weights, it's the nut on the inside of the clipon that the bolt threads into which is knackered.

Re: Clipons + barends
maybe retap with a slightly bigger size and drill out your new bar ends to suit?
