Default any one recommend a cheap water proof boot?

I need some boots for day to day use therefore need to be waterproof , current boots Oxtar gortex have worn out , great boots but expensive ( 120 quid )
Looking for a cheaper alternative
Found a couple from j&s Frank Thomas Aqua boots 29 quid !!
also from j&s swift m2r superbike boot 69 quid

Any recommendations / ideas?

Cheers Steve

HG's Bullson mate boots (£109.99) maddox boots(£89.99) or the peak boots (69.99) would be a good bet, more protective than wellingtons and more waterproof than trainers. they're all sheltex membrane which is waterproof and come with either a year or 2 year warranty.

Aquaboots are certainly waterproof, but I found the protection broke very easily. Now I pay £120 for a pair of Dianeses that last a lot longer

Just purchased some Daytona Voyagers - Leather/Gortex. They have a long warranty on them and can be re-soled etc so i thought were ok and will last a good few years. Expensive but at £180.00 - but were the most comfortable i could find as I have wide feet and everything else was painful.

In general, regardless of what company you buy boots from, with the gortex gear you should get a "lifetime" * guarentee on the gortex part of the boot. these items are sent back to gortex for testing and then a report is given. It's often worth spending the extra money to get the gortex waterproof guarentee, this money also pays for further testing to improve the gortex membrane.

* the "lifetime" guarentee refers to the useage of the boot i.e if you are a courier and jet wash your boots this an invalidate your guarentee but if the boots show that they have been looked after then gortex are fairly happy to test the waterproofing.

As I'm skint ordered a pair of Frank Thomas Aqua boots for 29 quid for the commute to work , if I can get 12 months out of them then I 've got my money worth .
Problem I have is that I am heavy & flat footed therefore wear soles out quickly !

Cheers Steve

the aquaboots are great for commuting , however for scratching don't offer much protection so bought a pair of Oxtar TCS boots of ebay for 21 quid , a lot better protection , will keep the aquaboots for commuting in sh*t weather

cheers Steve
