My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
Oh, mep has reminded me, when you go for the scottoiler it's worth the extra few bob for the twin applicator nozzle. You can effectively half the flow rate as it applies it to both sides of the sprocket

I don't think there's owt wrong with the single ones and have seen loads of mither with the duals

My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
Certainly nothing wrong with them mate, but was just thinking it may be more frugal for a tourer
Oh and can you translate mither? Or did you mean bother? (Seriously though, not taking the pizz, not sure if it's a northernism)

And it seems you already knew, it generally means bother, hassle, fuss. We'll 'ave yer fluent in no time! As for the scottoiler, the original instructions from back in the day claimed that the oil flowed along the link pins to oil both sides. I never saw a noticeable lubrication difference on each side of the chain from the single ended ones I've used. The double sided is a gimmick IMHO.

I'm pretty certain the 2 feed system exists to allow the nice people at scottoiler to sell systems to riders who would not be convinced that it wasn't needed.
Works just fine but it would be an extra faff to set up and is be surprised if it made a difference to chain life. Jambo Sent without a real keyboard

My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
Been on our first trip so I figured I'd add an update...
I'm so impressed with this little SV! We climbed some pretty steep and long hills two up and overloaded and she just took it all in her stride. Still power to overtake when needed and no bad handling. Over four days we covered 1200 miles from Milton Keynes through: Peak District Lake District Scottish boarders Yorkshire Dales North Wales Monmouthshire It was epic and I really wish I had taken some Lycra cycling shorts for under my leathers, apart from that it all went perfectly! Got the first week in September to plan for now. Right to the top of Scotland or French Alps???????? |

Good effort, looked like damp fun.
In your picks you show your bike on the stand in numerous fields. Comment, do you have one of those discs for the stand's base to spread the load? If not you may want to get one. Would spoil your trip if you are woken in the night to the noise of your bike taking a tumble.

You can always rest assured that if the ground is soft enough for the sidestand to sink, it's still bloomin hard enough to trash your bike!

If those are the H&B Junior luggage, how big are the non-junior ones?

Don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this, but that colour scheme is amazing, I really, really like it!
