Default Motorcycle Insurance 2017?

I've looking around and using comparison sites for the best deal.I was with Carol Nash but their quote seems a little high for me at over £200 for a Stock 1999 Curvy (I have 9 years plus Protected no claims and ain't young).

The cheaper quotes, when I checked reviews, all threw up some unsatisfied reports but that's the same for a lot of things I've found.

Bennets/MCE etc

Devitt seemed to have some decent reviews.

I may be able to negotiate a better deal with Carol Nash so will call them tomorrow.

Any pointers appreciated

I've used mce, bennets and now carol nash. One benefit of carol nash is that their breakdown is bike specific not just an AA man and you currently get free DNA+

The company giving me the cheapest quotes recently has been Hastings Direct.
Fully comp, £150 excess, seven years protected no claims, worked out at £110 for a brand new AL7
Carol Nash were ridiculously more expensive at £231

Great guys. All good info.I'll have a look at Hastings but some bad reviews,

https://www.reviews.co.uk/company-re...hastingsdirect

DomP: I already have,"Alpha Dot" on the bike so don't need DNA.No need to double up but thanks anyway.

I can get Devitt for £107 and separate breakdown cover for £35.

You'll always get dodgy reviews for insurers, they're all much the same in that regard.
What you don't see are the thousands of folk who don't have any bother at all

Generally speaking, that's always the case. It doesn't necessarily mean any one company is totally good or totally bad, it is just the nature of people - they remember the bad more than the good.

I am with Bennetts - very good except that any small change will cost me dear. I underestimated the mileage I would do so *kerrr-ching* £35 to increase it a bit. They will get the choice to increase it free or lose me to another company at renewal time.

I'm an older rider with zero no-claims and they only asked me £140 for my curvy.

Hastings don't allow buy back so you face losing your bike in a claim
