Yep, that's the way to do it.

I put my compressor down the side, so I didn't lose the space in the middle of the under seat.

Because I haven't got the snow shovel fitted, I don't have all that plastic you've got, so a bit easier to site my down the side

Where are you going to mount the horn? Because its so light I put mine on the inside of the fairing

I had 2 now - 1 from original owner and a replacement as it died... the replacement has died within months - kept it in the belly pan like the original and its frozen up... replaced compressor and that runs so make sure you stick it somewhere as dry as possible!

I've got the horn unit cable tied onto one of the front fairing brackets too - yeah it's so light that it's just no problem. I was thinking of mounting the compressor in the rear side fairing but I've heard they don't last long if exposed to the elements - how long has yours been on?

I'll probably resite it at some point but, somehow, the tardis-like underseat storage let me get everything back afterwards, despite the space loss! (Ratchet strap, allen set, socket set, bugees, ACF bottle, grease syringe AND Bib's fusebox!)

(Aah Fluffer, you beat me to it... so yours didn't like the wet either? My dad's had a couple on the car over the years, they've both died after being mounted behind the front splitter.)

Couple of years now, its nice and dry in the under seat area, just tucked away to one side.

I wrapped it in some foam pipe lagging to isolate it from vibration

Aah vibration - now that I hadn't considered. Good thinking

Right, I'm off to scare some cages / children. Gotta try this on the open road

I had one on my mondeo and they are very loud, I wanted to fit it to the raptor but there's no room for the compressor to go anywhere
