Default New Avon Storm Ultra's

I had planned to kill these 2ct's and then replace them with a set of the new Avon Storm Ultra's, however it seems half a stanley blade on my way home Sunday night had other ideas, so I'm off now to get a set fitted, on the plus side I should get some feedback again (something the 2ct's lack) which is nice.

Expensive fix, but has to be done.

Cheers Mark.

I'll be getting new rear prior to the MOT in two weeks. Be interesting to see how these fare.

indeed, also having the S4 with original storms and the Duke with the Ultra's should show any major differences.

Cheers Mark.

Have a new Ultra on my (Gixer) front wheel, should be out on it by next weekend...need a rear soon as well. My local guys couldn't get the old Storms so looks like the Ultra's are very much replacing.

I have just done about 400 miles on the new Storm Ultra rear. Seems to be same levels of grip as the older model (i.e. I cannot make either slip) and was sure footed in the wet yesterday. As one of the claims for these newer versions is better mileage, it will be a while before I can give feedback on that.

In a romantic moment my husband has offered to get me a new tyre for my birthday (which was last December) and another my 2009 Christmas present - it's only March 2010!

So Storms seem to be the popular choice. Any idea how much this is likely to cost?

If you shop around you should get a pair fitted to the SV for under £200. FWIW I paid £107 fitted, ride in / ride out for a rear on my VFR, which is a bigger and more expensive tyre than the SV.

I paid £90 for a front fitted to a loose wheel, it was 120/70/17
