Front end problem after crash & repair

Hi,

So I dropped my beloved SV650S and so far replaced the below:

- forks
- brake discs

Other bits such as the lower fairings I think are repairable but I am in no hurry with those, I just want my bike back on the road 100%.

I still need to replace the gear lever and few other bits and bobs to bring it to a very good condition.

At the moment I am worried and the work I have done so far. As you can see on the attached picture the front wheel is off to one of the sides by around 1/2".

Any ideas as to what have I done wrong? This makes the bike go left when the bar is straight. Also, one of the front callipers is slightly catching the disc.

Any ideas please? I would very much appreciate any relevant feedback.

Spacers in the wrong way or order?

Is it even possible to get it wrong? All you have is the spindle and the speed sensor, no?

I wouldn't have thought so.

Other thing to try is slacken off the bottom yoke pinch bolts and bounce the forks up and down, if i remember correctly, so that the forks are alined correctly. It might even be the top pinch bolts ss well, just enough so that the stantions dont slide up through the yokes when you bonce the forks, but enough to let the action correct any twist in the fork asembly.

Hi man sorry to hear about your incident, I know this is a long shot but there's no way the forks are on the wrong sides is there?? I know on my curvy it's labelled L & R for each for leg, I know it's probably not that just offering a suggestion,

I was doing around 10-15mph uphill and dropped it and an oncoming car hit/drove over the front of the bike (have not seen it - just going off what I was told.

You probably can call it a crash as ultimately it involved another vehicle and the bike was damaged.

Any tips as to what could be done to get the bike straightened out?

I do not think that you can assemble the whole front without putting forks on the right sides so that's probably not it.

Fare enough Mate yeah I didn't think so either to be honest just sometimes can be the small details that you miss.

It can't be wheel spacers because there's only one on the front isn't there as the other is the speedo drive??

As maviczap said above maybe the slacken the pinch bolts of and see if you can have a re-align, because there will be quite a bit of movement, maybe the yolk has moved slightly on impact aswell maybe worth slackening the yolk bolt off and adjusting the alignment of the yolks.

Are the new forks from a straight bike??
