Nice job. Was the solution to do a switch from one of one of your donor OMs?

Good to know that the OM10 fits. How's the unpacking and organising going?

Does unpacking an OM10 to strip for parts count? It's getting there, there are some niggles to sort out with the house but otherwise good. Quite chuffed with the OM1, just need to run a test roll through. Might replace the prism in my other OM1 as it is showing signs of the same problem.

There's a small blemish at the bottom of the prism/viewfinder in mine too. Maybe I should check the foam and replace it to make sure it doesn't develop into a problem.

Yeah, you don't want that gunk getting into where it shouldn't be. It's like old light seals. If yours is blemished then it's already started and will need replacing.

OM707 - I've been going through my late Dad's stuff and found an OM707 with a Olympus 70-210 zoom lens and a 28mm wide angle lens plus the standard lens. The camera looks like it has a power winder attached.

As I understand it, the 707 was unpopular because it was auto only and, as such, isn't worth anything?

His seems dead, so I assume there's a battery somewhere - I haven't had chance to look yet.

I also found a few Cokin filters but don't know if they're for the Olympus or not. It's starting to look like a camera graveyard - I've got a dead OM1n (meter) and I've also found a Canon Photura, a Canon Sureshot and a Chinon (!) 8mm cine camera (plus 2 projectors, one slide and one 8mm, standard or super, dunno).

Cokin filters are universal. You buy the holder and then an adapter ring to suit the lens filter thread. I've a load in my hoard somewhere with various size rings. Useful to have.

I had to look up the 707, not seen one before. Looks like it was designed to rival the Minolta 7000. I have quite a few Cokin filters but I never use them.
