The clutch switch is pushing in and out no problems. Stand is down buttons out. What should I be looking for there? Ain't pretending I'm mechanically minded .

Just a quick piece of info -
1) another phrase for voltage is potential difference.
2) a relay (or solenoid) uses a low current source to switch a higher current source (or to isolate one circuit from another).

If you measure between the two screws on that ebay solenoid picture with power on and nothing pressed, you are effectively measuring across an open switch so there will be a potential difference because one side is connected to the battery and the other side is connected to ground/earth/neg side of the battery - you should see battery voltage (12V ish) assuming that your starter motor hasn't burnt out.

When you press the starter and measure the voltage between the 2 screws, if the relay/solenoid has energised the two contacts will have been connected together (internally) and there will be no potential difference so 0V.

You can quickly test that the solenoid is working by bridging the two screws with a pair of insulated pliers - with the ignition on and the two screw contacts bridged the starter motor should turn. If you do this, be careful - there is a lot of current involved and it will spark and if the battery is in good condition it can try and weld the pliers in place - so just a quick stab across the contacts.

If it doesn't turn you either have a bad battery or a bad starter motor (or a break in the wire to the motor or corrosion is stopping the starter from being grounded which is less likely)
Ensure the bike is in neutral.

Hi, are you sure you tried to start it with a booster or was it a battery charger? The second will not work as it cant supply nearly enough power. Im asking cos I cant think of any problem other than a faulty battery that will drop the battery voltage to zero when trying a start.....

If you have been doing a lot of short journeys and with the ambient temperatures now lower it may have shown up a weakness in the Battery and not getting enough charge.

Did you try bump-starting the bike?

The standing charge of my Motorcycle batteries is around 12.8v DC . Running and load variance between 14v to 14.5v DC across the battery.

I have my bike on a Battery tender supplied through a fused SAE connector which I can pull out from under my seat.

I have an emergency USB starter booster if I need it under my seat,
