SV1000s With mods
Now that i've packed in the Minitwin racing it was time to drag out the SV thou' from the back of the shed. Haven't really used it much in last 5 years and been SORN'd for most of it. Flew through MOT last week guy didn't even test it really, checked headlights and brake efficiency that was it.
I've owned it since new and put a few useful mods on it like a Renthal conversion (by Bandit mania), Blueflame stainless can, Full Givi system (go camping and touring a fair bit), Fenda Extenda, that sort of stuff. We're off on a big euro trip this year starting at portsmouth to Santander, then ride to Catalunya MotoGP, spend a week getting accross to Rimini to ake in WSB Misano, then head back via Italian lakes and Swiss alps. Just under 3 weeks. |

Re: SV1000s With mods
not getting rid for some time Dave (if at all TBH), or are you taking the mick a little ?!
nothing special with the pipes, just kept them from rotting and used 1200 wet and dry once a year with some autosol thereafter. Not using it in rain or winter has kept the bike like new. |

Re: SV1000s With mods
Very nice, looks just the job for a spot of euro touring.

Re: SV1000s With mods
ah, you can buy them new still.
The racks are fairly good value, but the boxes are pricey. the boxes are readily available on ebay all the time, luckily the givi silver matches the Suzuki Sonic Silver perfectly, but the gloss panels are easily removed and painted by a shop should you want a colour match. it's pricey but an investment. i've used mine a fair bit and once you've got it you wonder how you manged without it. especially if you carry stuff frequently. I also fitted the givi high level LED brake light kit which matches in with the OEM SV tail light really well and looks factory fit. Gives nice peace of mind as i dont think lorrys can see the SV rear lights from there cabs in traffic as the point down. |
