Hope everyone had a good meet and thanks to Plowsie for offering to ride from the Stormy to Newcastle to try and fix it. Not even met you Plowsie and yet you still offered, top guy from a top forum
Glad you managed to get home okay mate, had the toolkit on me so i coulda popped up, from the time it took pedro to get to the stormy it didn't look too far. I was walking about for a while because i got there about quarter past so woulda been no trouble.

Good to see the usual suspects LP(that really is lazy), Baph, Pedro and Slark.

And the nice looking barmaid gave us all her phone number and e-mail if we ever wanted some grooming done PMSL

Glad to hear you got home ok Paul (MR_UKI).

It took me about 20 mins to get from those traffic lights to The Stormy Petrel ... so Plowsie probably coulda been there in 10 LOL

I think I'm going to be getting some new bulbs too as riding at >50mph on some of those roads last night was a little scary ... especially when I ran over an 'already dead' squirrel mid-corner.

Good to see you all again Plowsie, you're a star m8!!

Oh and did you REALLY take that barmaids number?!
Go on, I dare ya! LMAO

Cheers,
Pete

Yeah, he got held up at work ... a job that he couldn't really leave, he did text me to let me know, and I'm sure I told someone last night.

yeah he was ... his text says, "May still be able to get to the Petrel in time but I wouldn't bank on it". That's the first/last I heard from him.

S'ok guys, just was wondering if he was OK. He said he was trying to pop down and didn't show. Just wanted to be sure that nothing had happened to him.

Aye, as Pete said, I got held up in work.
I'm a kitchen fitter (work with me dad) and Weds is sink and plumbing day.
Anyway, had to drain the water storage tank so we could solder as their stop-c0ck was still letting water through when shut off as it was old/ceased etc (solder generally wont 'take' when there's water about, hence why we drained the system).

Anyway, later in the day we waited for the tank to fill again and to our non-surprise we had an air-lock.
Usually we just blow it back up to the tank from downstairs etc with a washing machine hose using the rising-main pressure etc and is usually done in a jiffy, but it wasn't having it, as their rising-main pressure was really low.
In the end I was upstairs in the peoples bathroom with a hosepipe pushed againsed their bath-tap connected from their kitchen downstairs to blow it back from there, which done the trick.
And that was my important job 'hold the hosepipe againsed the bath-tap'

So, I/we couldn't leave the job until they had running water again
Finally got it cleared around 18:30-ish (not long after I txt'd pete), but by the time we cleared up, got our tools together and got home it was getting on for nearly 20:00.
By the time i'd of had a wash, got the bike out/gear on it would of been far too late to leave for the meet, especially the 50 'or so' miles to get there.
I hate old properties 'with a vengence'!!!

I think my reputation is starting to suffer, out of 3 meets i've managed 'one'
I'll DEFINATLEY be at the Tap next meet though as time/distance won't be a problem.... Then again you've heard that twice now
Sorry guys!!!
