Default MOT Recommendations ?

Looking for recommendations for MOT in Paisley/ Glasgow area. Will most likely
get the tyres seen to at the same time.

Also, what's the score with taking a non-taxed vehicle to an MOT centre?

I think it it's allowed for the purpose as you need the MOT to get the tax disc?
Just wanted to check.

Cheers

It's legal if you can prove that you are going for a service and/or mot, this is done simply by booking it into where u are going. That was the score a few years ago, and I don't think it will have changed.

I'll go along with that. As long as you're booked in you're OK.

Plus the odds of getting stopped by our under resourced boys and girls in blue are about a million to one...

Don't go to MCS in Renfrew. We had a bit of bother with them... I had my Honda serviced at Victor Divine - they were ok. But we now use Westcoast Suzuki in Irvine, basically cos thats where we got the bikes. It's a nice road trip down, and you can always stop in at my mum's house in Killie for a cuppa :P

I use West Coast Suzuki for my servicing and found them always helpful. They're not far from the train station either so if you have to leave your bike overnight you can still get home. My bikes not due its MOT's yet but I would think I will be using them when that comes round.

I've heard a lot of mixed reports about MCS, some good, some bad, but from my own experience it depends on who you get to talk too.

You are alowed to ride/drive an untaxed vehicle on the road as long as its to and from a pre-booked MOT. You must take the most direct route and all that malarky. If you dont pre book it, then you will be liable for riding an untaxed vehicle on the highway.
