Default Stuck Horn

I went out to start my SV this morning to go to my first day at my new job, and I turn the key to "on", and the horn turns on and wont go off . I think ive heard of this happening..but dont know the cause. I can't really drive with the horn blaring, nor can I without a horn. Ideas? thanks

This is a FIAMM. Not the stock horn. The button is fine. Is there a relay that could have broken?

Ok, I checked out some wiring diagrams....no relay. Maybe just a bad button.

I think the horn button is an earth to the frame (it completes the circuit). Maybe the horn has got itself earthed? Otherwise it's either a horn button problem or a wiring problem (earthing against the frame).

Correct. The horn wiring is negatively switched (meaning that all the button does is to earth the circuit, it's already got a positive feed).

Easy way to test a bad earth, would be to unplug the horn, stick a multi-meter in the connection that goes to the switch, the other multi-meter probe on the frame... do you get continuity? If you do, you have a dodgy earth somewhere.

Unless the problem is inside the horn itself! i.e. the windings..... You can get a new decent one for a tenner anyway. But Baph's excellent technical suggestion is good!

Thanks. I will try that as soon as I get home.
