Default Lets talk about throttle bodies (phoarrr!)

Went in to Steve Jordan's workshop today to ask about a remap, and wondered if there was anything else they could do to smooth the throttle response. The mechanic suggested I should have the throttle bodies balanced. The bike is due it's 4000 service. Are they likely to unbalanced? I have a stock bike, and a hindle full system. Would having unbalanced bodies make throtle response jerky? Is there any way to tell if they are unbalanced by riding it or listening to it?

Thanks in advance!

John

Whats that other mod you can do to the throtle bodies on the FI bikes. The one that sync's the ECU with the TB? You need to do the dealer mode then move something and look at the speedo. Im not sure but someone will be.

Hi, if you look at the snappy engine thread I had the same problem with my k3 it turned out to be the tp switch on the throttle requiring setting up.loads better now.

They could be out of balance, but they probably won't be by now. The tp switch is the best place to start, though. It's a ******* to do but definitely worthwhile.
Throttle bodies aren't difficult to balance, though, and worth at least checking now and again.

I had been told by some people that changing the TP switch didn't make much difference, but I'll do that too I guess!

No! A little fiddly thought.

Depends how far out it is. The problem with doing this mod is it requires a security torx bit.
