Default Help...flat battery

So woke up this morning and the SV wont start. Looked to me like a flat battery cause when I turned the ignition on the side lights glowed slightly.

Did a quick search on the internet and found some articles about jump starting the bike. thought that sounded like an ace idea so I took the seat off and used my car to jump start her.

Put + to + and - to - with the car not running (read on some of the articles that you can kill your bike with it on). Long story short, nothing happened. Didnt get the usual clicks and buzzing of the fuel injection, or any lights, or the dash showing anything. The other worrying thing is that the light bulbs are no longer glowing.

So I am now in rather a prediciment as I have to get to work. Have I done something wrong? What should I do now?

Please help me someone.

Jon

PS - I have a K7 sport

It's a new bike. Did you not get AA assistance with it.?

It's got an alarm I presume. Try resetting it.

I fitted the alarm myself, and have disconnected it from the ignition so it should work fine.

Okay. Just realised that the 30amp fuse on the battery had blown. Now all I need to do is jump start the bike.

Any ideas?

Why has the fuse blown would be my first question?

You need to check your documents or ring your dealer to see what level of AA cover you have. AA would be your best bet I reckon.

The way you were jumping it seems fine to me, but that's just my opinion.

thanks for your help Pete. Not sure why the fuse blew but it definately happened when I attached the car battery.

Now all I need to do is find a way to get the bike started without blowing the fuse again.
