Default 500 yards 30mph max Lunch break ride - wear Leathers ?

OK here it goes.

I have an hour lunch break and ride to the Local gym.

It's only 500 yards down the road and Speed limit is 30 MPH.

Since it's 30+ Celsius I find myself riding there in shorts+tshirt....

If I'd ride there in leather gear - my work clothes would be drenched in sweat.

I can't jog there as I need a full hour to lift weights also there's the way back to the office - I'd sweat again like a pig.

So what are your thoughts on this ?

Personally I'd walk. 400 yards hardly seems worth taking the bike.

Surly 10 minutes isn't going to make that much difference ?

It'd take longer to get into gear, ride there, get out etc than it would to walk surely?

Statistically (according to the TV ad) your more likely to have an accident on the roads you know/closest to a familiar place.....saying that I rode from here to Bromley the other night NOT wearing my leathers just too hot.....................

THE CHOICE IS YOURS!!!

7 replys already

I can't walk it. Takes 10 minutes each way.

so that would only leave me 40 minutes gym time - (10 minutes shower)

I normally wear my leathers all the time but since that heat & it's only a short ride @ 30mph max.... I decided not to.

400 yards... ain't that only a little bit more then a lead up to a slip road... walk... or even jog. That way you ain't missing out on that exercise time.
