Have been sorting out all the bits for doing my bar conversion so figured if I’m swapping the brake hoses I might as well swap the callipers as well. One of the current calipers has a snapped bleed nipple so needs to be sorted really.
Time to rebuild my spare calipers...

I got the SV all together and went for a spin. It's the first ride since redoing the suspension: New linkage bearings. New-to-me, freshly serviced ZX10 shock. And new oil and springs in the front. It's like someone ironed the road. It's wonderful!

Made this janky OBD2 connector for the Dorsoduro thanks to some smart people on the aprilia forum, in order to find out what is causing the intermittent service lights. It gave some codes relating to the throttle sensors. I'm thinking it might have been caused by me adjusting the amount of free play on it. So I reset the codes and forced it to self learn.

Took it for a short run and no lights so far. I won't be 100% sure it is fixed until I've been out a few more times, but fingers crossed. Plus it's very useful to be able to instantly see any faults without having to go to the dealer. And it cost just £27

Nice work Dazzla.

I fitted some Yorkshire O2 sensor correctors the other day and felt pretty proud.

Checked the clearances on my Gen 3, which has just turned 15K miles. All in spec, thankfully, so good for another 15K+. Getting the rear valve cover off and replacing it was a bit of a knuckle scraper because I didn't remove the tank, but got there in the end.

you need special tools to work with cartridge forks. the cost is about £100 for the tools. if you have an impact gun.

biggest mistake people make is not 'degassing/bleeding' the cartridges when they add oil. you also get the same problem with people doing the same with damper rod forks.

as long as your not stripping the cartridges down to change the valve shims then this are easier.

I won't be doing anything with cartridges.

Looks like I won't have to go anywhere near that far. Opened up the RH fork and got 200ml of oil out of it instead of the recommended 650ml+. Suspect the LH fork will be the same.

I've got the seals, bushes and a new spring so I'll be fitting that anyway and getting it back together with the correct oil level. The slide smoothly when empty and off the bike so hoping nothing is bent.
