Default Armed Forces Day

Well, it's Armed Forces Day 2010 this Saturday, the 26th June. Anyone going to be doing anything to celebrate the work our lads and lasses in HM Forces do?

Personally I'm taking part in a big parade in Godalming (GM members, you're welcome to attend) and then at a party in the evening hosted by a friend of mine whose father is currently on ops.

Even if you don't do anything special, take a moment out to remember those who are willing to do what they do for our society. Don't have to support why they are there, just support the people themselves.

Thankyou

I will be showing financial support by pouring a lot of very expensive unleaded into the bike!

enjoy the parade, I was in cadets years ago and it was good fun

We get all the old boys from ww2 at work and they sell cards and what not that all go to help for hero's and other force related charities.
Is always a nice day.

Sunday, Plymouth Hoe. An extravaganza of events. Kids will be climbing over shiney stuff, climbing walls, eating ice cream and just generally having a good time. I imagine that I'll bump into one or two people that I know.

Never heard of this.

Is it another of those days invented by the greeting card industry like grand parents day etc.

For those in the south, I found out through work that any serving forces personnel and their families can go to Eastbourne speedway for free on 1 July

Had Lorraine Kelly winched into my work from a Sea-king and then take a Fastrib up the Clyde to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

Would not mind celebrating over the lovely Lorraine.

Tis fairly new Tim, it's in it's third year here...the first year in Plymouth it was advertised as veterans day...veterans day now appears in various diaries.
