People who commit suicide by jumping off a motorway bridge at rush hour.

Don't they know that the rest of us still have lives to lead and don't appreciate being stuck in stationary traffic for hours. Bloody inconsiderate.

If this one hadn't been successful, I think there are about 50,000 people around West London who would like to help with their next attempt.

It's a difficult one. I've been unfortunate enough to have dealt with a few jumpers. There's the ones who go up and wait for all the attention before coming down, then there's the ones who just ... jump. The aftermath of a jumper is usually several people on the road in deep shock having hit the body. It's a dark, lonely place on the hard shoulder of a motorway with pieces of a corpse spread across three lanes and the axle of your car.

I doubt either one is thinking about how they might inconvenience motorists.

On a lighter side, a radio DJ in Manchester was criticised for playing a callers favourite song whilst many thousands of people waited on the M60 for a woman to decide whether to jump or not.

I'm with all three of you on this one. I totally see keith_d point of view, and I know it's a sensitive subject and involves people who must be totally desperate to even be considering such an act, but the reality is that if they actually do go ahead and do it not only do they end their life but potentially they could end someone else's in the process, or in the very least leave them severely traumatized, and calling that inconsiderate is an understatement. I don't mind cleaning up the mess, I was paid to do that and it goes with the job, as does dealing with those still living. I know which job I preferred.

Like Bluepete I have also had numerous dealings with those that have no intention of jumping, they just want the attention and this is one sure way of getting it. At times like that I just wish Mel Gibson was around for me.....

Having to delay going to a wedding today because I've cracked a front tooth and I'm off to the dentist. And waking up with a terrible headache.

So once I'm fixed up and if the magic pills work I'm off to Goodwood House to celebrate the marriage of a former colleague who is a dear friend. She's northern Irish, so the wedding could be like a get together of Dave Preston's distant relatives with a free bar.

Keith_d, I feel the same way about train & tube suicides. Go find a kitchen knife or something instead. All the comforts of home.

Maybe we need Futurama style suicide booths.

True, but someone who has an idea of how that person must be feeling to contemplate doing that might get upset by it.
