Has anybody tried one and do they actually do anything you would notice

Have you taken a look in the "FAQ's and How To" section? There's a piece there, look for "How to: disengage the ignition retarder."

I felt no difference after doing thr TRE mod it's free so nothing lost by doing it anyway

They're talking rubbish on ebay, if you "fool" the ECU into thinking its in gear then it won't affect the tickover in neutral as the map for in-gear idle is perfectly fine.
Bloody con, I bet that "smart TRE" is a bent paperclip in a box!

The guys on the SVrider forum are talking about replacing a resistor to trick the ECU into thinking its it in 6th all the time where there is no timing retardation. As far as i can see the ebay £35 effort is just a 15k ohm resistor with connectors!!!!
I think a trip to maplins is in order tomorrow!!! |
