Best way to touch up large stone chips/small scrapes to prevent rust?

Project Yellow (the VW van) has a few large stone chips on the wheel arches, and one small scrape, all exposing bare metal. I'll get these dealt with in a reasonable manner but want to cover them up in the short term.

What's best, a little sanding some ku-rust, followed by primer and a quick over spray from a can, or some hammerite or something else? They're only small patches on dark paint, so not bothered about the aesthetics but I don't want rust to get a hold.

Getting the sodding things dry is going to be half the challenge!

I've always used superglue as a temp cover until I paint, just clean it before doing it

Clear nail varnish. I've always got some in my make up bag.

www.chipsaway.co.uk if you want a cheap but good looking repair. I've used them for horrid stone chips and rust bubbles with good results before but it probably varies in quality depending on who has the franchise near you.

Plasti Coat Enamel rattle can should be good for a semi permeant repair. Just Gunk down the area as prep.
I've done bits of the rear end of my Curvy to tidy them up and its holding strong (all the rear spacers, caliper mount and adjusters)

As for the paint chips, I think I'll be putting my normal guy out of a job, as I did these myself (note impeccable colour match acheived by picking randomn spray can from motorworld):







Plan is to change the bottom green to satin black, so this shouldn't be a long term issue.
