SV650 / SV1000 fairings

Hello,

I bought some fairings for my K4 SV650 on ebay, advertised as for a 650, complete with fitting kit.

The fitting kit is marked as for a K3 650, but its marked on the inside of the fairings as SV1000.

I didn't think anything of it until I put them up against my bike and the radiator mounting hole is a few inches from being in the right place!

I've searched on here, and see that they wont fit.

I'm screwed right?

Any idea how much brand new SV1000 fairings in the mid blue are worth?

I struck a deal off ebay so may have trouble getting my money back.

what did u pay for the 1000 fairings? they usually sell for about £150 ish

I paid £200 for them, which I was happy with, before I realised they wouldn't fit!

Is it just the radiator mount that makes them different, or are they a completely different shape?

SV1000 is physically bigger.

You may be able to bodge it, just make sure that clearances etc are all ok

Sound like you have the fitting kit for the SV650 but the actual fairing s for an SV1000. Unfortunately as already mentioned the SV1000 fairings won't fit the SV650. You have two options, ask the seller for a refund or 650 panels or sell the 1000 panels on here (think a few people would snap them up) and then look for a set of 650 panels.

Try the ebay seller first, if they managed to get hold of a 650 kit and 1000 fairings they may be able to get hold of the proper 650 panels (could have just been a stock mix up)!

Give him/her negative feedback, and then report him/her for false advertising of goods.

you can open a dispute on ebay and paypal but it takes ages and at the end of it all thers still a chance you wont get your money back.


i think you would be best advertiseing them in places that way you will get rid of them quicker and that will let you buy the proper 650 ones.

If I had won them straight then I would be pursuing it, but as it was a private sale his decision is final really.

To confirm, the 650 fitting kit wont work with the 1000 panels, to fit to a 1000?

I'll stick a for sale up and see what happens, thanks for the advice.
