Right then, is there any VPN software installed to enable her onto company intranets. You usually then find that this VPN software is installed against an interface. I do it with my wireless interfaces so that in hotels etc I can use secure remote etc. But home/in the office I do not need to use the VPN software and hook up by traditional cable
Its a personal laptop so its been no where near RBS

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost

Also worth checking the DNS settings on the wireless network device settings, make sure that they are the same as the wired adapter settings.

another possibility is Internet Explorer security settings, maybe the RBS site is in a restricted zone for some strange reason? Have you tried with another browser?
The hosts file is as yours, i have tried FF and IE and checked the DNS settings on laptop and my Own PC and both are identical that i can see.

I doubt its a MAC address issue, if it was you wouldn't have any connectivity or an intermittant issue to different sites.

Viney, have you tried going to other banking sites on the laptop? Like hsbc.co.uk or natwest.co.uk ?

If they're not working either it would make me think of a trojan... that's probably broken, but trying to redirect you? Long shot though

Rigs, yes i can access all the major high street banks and any other site that i have tried to access, it just seems that i can no t access the RBS website via a wireless connection from Vernas laptop. As said above, it will do it on a wired connection!! Its all very odd! Anyhoo, as i say the laptop seems a bit squiffy at the moment, so going to rebuild it over the weekend and then see what happens.
