Hi, I´m new to this fórum, I have recently buyed a new motorcycle, sv650 carburator from year 2002, have now 29 000km, I think this is last version of carburator.

I´m from Lisbon, Portugal,
this is not my first bike, I´m past I have 10motos and 3 pocket bikes! lol

I don´t have made searches of this bike, I have ideia that this model is good, super engine V2.

Can some tell me wat I have to check, or have to be carfull?
Tanks in andvance

Boas-Vindas! Welcome to the forum. My best mate lives in Alcabideche, he's a biker too.

HI mate, welcome to the forum.

The SV is pretty bulletproof as long as you observe basic maintenance rules.
Do keep an eye on the oil level, they don't like it being allowed to run low, and doing long wheelies has the same effect.....

There's a little drain hole on the right side of the front cylinder that drains the spark plug recess. This has been known to get blocked leading to an engine misfire when it rains. Just occasionally check it's still clear.

Remember the nuts and bolts used are not the best quality so take the time to make sure you use the right spanner, and be careful.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy riding it.

Hello and welcome. I have family in Lisbon they stay very near Jardim De Belem, the bakery (Pasteis De Belem) just round the corner from their house is brilliant. Very lovely bit of the area. They are so lucky.

As the others have said the bike they are generally decent little bikes.

Mini-motos (pocket bikes) the Portuguese seem to be mad for them. I'd break myself if I even tried.

You'd be surprised. Lisbon is on the Atlantic coast, rains on average one day in three there, although it's not a lot and generally nice warm rain.....

I would be surprised, having spent a lot of time there. Being northern, I don't class a "light sprinkle" as rain. If it happens in the summer it must evaporate before it hits the ground.
