Hi all,
Would this: http://www.getgeared.co.uk/MADHEAD_M...ss_Body_Armour be safe to wear under a t-shirt instead of a proper bike jacket in this horrible heat we've been having over the last few days. I realise you might look like a bit of a tool, but would it compromise safety? Motocross is slower with spills on dirt, so would one be foolish to wear this on a Sunday blat? |

Abrassion resistance is nill for for your lower arms... don't fancy it myself, but each to there own!
Best thing I can recommend is a "Base Layer" type of long sleeved t-shirt and long johns. Pick them up from any outdoor/hill walking type shop for £10 to £15 per item. Make getting your jacket and trousers on and off 100 times easier in the heat, and help keep you cool by wicking away sweat. Works great for me under my leathers or textiles. |

The elbow pads and gloves ought to be enough for the lower arms?
Will certainly give one of those base layer tops a go though, good plan. |

alpine stars do a really good amour suit. i was thinking the same of wearing one uner a hoody on really hot days. but then possibly get sweaty due to the tight fit.

Actualy, thats not a baaaad suggestion....just sometimes not possible to do
![]() I was in central london the other week, any speed below 20 mph and I would be getting hot from all the heat off the engine. Speeds over 35 mph kept me cool but that wasnt too often |

I just have a fully vented jacket... its great.
This morning it was even cooler due to the fact it was still a little damp from last nights down pour. |

The first ones is rubbish, any skin on show during an off, wont be there by the times your off has finished.
The Alpinestar one looks poretty damn good though.

Abrasion resistance is more important than impact resistance in my opinion.
If you were to be just wearing the 1st one, then I wouldn't bother at all. The Alpinestars one MIGHT be ok, but I would want to see it first - if the mesh looks/feels like I could tear it with my bare hands, see my last point. David
