hi all as my prev post
took the bike out and after about 5 mins into a good ride the bike started poping. and bucking arround it sounds as though its running on 1 pot then the other kicks in then goes again. i think its the rear pot. so took tank off, took plug out cleand it put it back, took ht lead off cleand it and took the coil off and cleand it. took it for a ride and the same thing happend. what can it be? i want to get it sorted asap as the sun is stopping out for a few days |

Definitely sounds exactly like the same problem I had with mine. The front coil went so got that fixed and then the connector on the front coil was corroded. Just got it cleaned up again today.
When you say you took the coil off and cleaned it - did you do both?? cos the front is a barsteward to get to? |

![]() The front is the most likely suspect as they get wet there is a drain hole on the right hand side of the front cylinder, check this is clear, squirt some wd-40 up there, see if that helps, if not get the front plug out and make sure its all dry and clean Last edited by Holdup; 10-04-10 at 08:08 PM. |

Definitely sounds like wet front plug syndrome

Check the connectors first to rule them out. Since it is a intermittent problem thats probably what it is. If it was the coil the front cylinder wouldn't fire up at all.
Just get your fingers in there and prise off the red and blue connectors, clean it up and try again. You do need small fingers!! lol |

Look in your owners manual, it will tell you how to drop the radiator.
Pointy or curvy? on the pointy theres 2 bolts that hold the rad on, one on the cyclinder and one on the frame (both rhs) (dunno if it applies to curvy) shift the radiator left (as your sitting on the bike) and it just drops downand hangs, then you can easily get to the front plug |

On your curvy just undo the bolt on the cylinder head and hold the rad out of the way with a piece of wood.
Its still a bloody tight squeeze There was no point undoing the frame bolts, as it gave no extra room. You'll need the OEM spark plug spanner
