Not starting with Lithium ION battery - SV650.org

Hi!

Me again...so I have a Lithium ION (lightweight) battery on my sv650...

I've put it on charge, press the little light on the battery and it shows full charge (three leds).

When I put it on the bike, and flick the ignition switch (key barrel removed) everything is fine (still shows three leds).

However, as soon as I press the start button the bike 'konks' and doesnt want to fully start...then the battery shows 1 led for about 30 seconds, then all the leds light up again...

Im thinking the battery maybe on the way out, but wondered if there is anyone else I can check before spending dosh...

p.s. nothing else is plugged into the battery, only the thick positive cable and the thick negative cable.

The only thing I know about LI motorcycle batteries is that in lower temps you have to leave them for about 15 seconds or more with the ignition on before trying to crank the bike.They need to heat/charge internally unlike normal batteries.

Do a,"Google" for Lithium Ion Motorcycle battery cold weather starting.

How was your key barrel removed and replaced with a switch?

You are aware of the anti hot wire resistor built into the lock?

Was it running before?
