A3 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT
The A3 London – Portsmouth trunk road is being closed this weekend, ensuring major disruption for motorists. Essential work on the Hindhead Tunnel project needs to be carried out between 10pm Friday March 27th and 5am Monday March 30th, so two new roundabouts for the Hazel Grove junction can be constructed. Through traffic will be diverted via the A31 and A325, passing through Bordon and Farnham. (How scenic! Ed)

Highways Agency spokesman Stuart Thompson said: “Progress on the A3 Hindhead tunnel scheme is good and we need to connect the new junction for the scheme into the existing road network at Hazel Grove. Although most of the junction is built away from existing roads, the work to tie all the connecting roads in can only be done safely with the A3 and the existing junction with Hazel Grove closed”.
