...is not something you should ever spill on a keyboard in 1pint quantities
WHEN You do, (OR more precisely, when someooone does it for you) you will find that the keys stick down verry well. THESE typo's are not deliberate. SHIft seems to be most affected. SO> CAn you wash USB KEYBoards? I@VE HEArd that you can, as they're basically simple switches. NO Soap etc, just flush it out with warm water? ANYone? CHRISt this is driving me mad. |

yep you can just wash them in plain water - have in the past washed a laptop or two in the sink after drinks spilt over them, not recommended by PC world. Must add this is only done in a last case scenario to get it up and working for a complete data retrieval. If I have a vid of doing this I'll try and post it. You will possibly be stuffed as the sugars in the drink tend to slowly short the keys out. so I would just by a new one.

Purified water if you are really bothered but normal water will be fine.
Water is normally only a problem for electrical equipment when they are switched on. Get the keyboard in the sink give it a good soak. Leave in the airing cupboard to dry overnight.

Annoying indeed.
My macbook hasn't turned on since a glass of wine got spilled over it. Grrr. |

Through a bit of networkery and ubuntu-y VNC I've managed to concoct a temporary solution.
Look how my sentences are correctly formed! Recommend not drinking and computing. |
