Default Bad start for the day

Well daughter no 1 has just been to pick up the grand kids, got back, got them out of the car seats when the granddaughter started doing a runner.

In terror she slammed the door of her car and ran after her.

DOH. The one and only key to her Polo is on the floor and doors now locked.

Now how do I get the doors open with accusation of damaging her car.

I suppose the good thing is she had managed to get both kids out before the granddaughter did her runner

Call the RAC and let them damage the car?

Seriously, is it deadlocked? If deadlocked you are pretty screwed.

But if it just 'locked' does it have those pop-up locks near the windows? If so, get some of that tape used to tie bundles of bricks together, fold in half and slide through the door seal - near the top of the door and slide dow to the right level, then loop over the pop-up lock thingy. Might take a couple of attempts but you can usually flick those up like that. If the loop keeps sliding off the pop-up thing, try sticking sandpaper on the tape as this grips well.

Don't know if this will help but a few years ago when I was in car rental we called the AA out to get into a Golf which had the keys inside.
He stripped the boot lock/handle area from the outside and gained entry without any damage at all.
Might be worth looking to see if you can do something similar.

Ring the AA or RAC for advice, they will usually beable to tell you how to get into any car without keys.

Or go on the polo owners club website, i bet they could tell you aswell.

Different car admitedly, but thinking outside the box.

On my Ford Galaxy, open the bonnet & the alarm unit is under there. There's a pretty basic key lock on it (which could easily be drilled out & refitted if necessary). Lift the flap that's currently locked, bridge 2 connections, and pop, doors unlock.

My mate locked his keys in his car at the weekend with the engine still running. The AA came out to him, and had them out within 20 seconds with no damage whatsoever. What kind of car was it that is so easy to break into I hear you ask? A Volvo V70, ex police.

If they have any sense they won't! Would you tell a newbie on here how to hotwire your bike?
