Default A nice route down to the coast.. ?

Going for my first proper ride tomorrow since passing my test on weds and was thinking of heading down to the coast on some nice A roads..

Can anyone recommend a route from Berkshire, near Reading down to the coast.. Probably gonna head down to Basingstoke and go that way. Got commitments this weekend so sneaked a half day off work tomorrow

Where on the South Coast ?

From Maidenhead, I'd either:

Take the M4 to J12, A4 to Marlborough, A338 to Salisbury, and then on to Christchurch, and head for the coast from there.

Or,

A33 to Basingstoke, B3400 to Andover, and take the A3057 to Romsey.

You could do the A33 to Basingstoke then trot down to Winchester and pick up the A272 and head East into Sussex, there's plenty of roads to the South from there...

Have fun, some of have to work

Damn, wouldn't have minded a nice ride tomorrow either. Unfortunately, I too have to work.
The roads down towards West Wittering beach are pretty good though

I'll finish work at 11:45 so could be in my gear and on the road by 12:15 at the earliest. What do reckon Ian? Got enough time?

C'mon ASM.. You know you want to, gonna be another fine day !

A33 to Basingstoke then down to Winchester then A272 to East Sussex sounds good.. Cheers Jelster
