Thats all folks....
Just found out that they are writeing off my SV650Sk4. May she rest in pieces.
They have offered me £3,400 which is stupid. So im going to push for a lot more + the bike. Since it wasnt my fault and I wont get a similar bike for that. Its a CAT D write off. Anyone know the process for re-roading it, options to part out etc? Im annoyed at carole nash. They sent me a letter weeks ago, saying as I only have TPTF insurance, they wont deal with it, there legal people will. Spoke to the solicitor today, they didnt know anything. Fine, okie christmas post, etc... So I get in tonight and theres a leter from carole nash "hire". Pretty much asking if they can have the hire bike back because mine has been written off. Nice of them to tell me. Dan. Ex Yellow SV Rider |

CAt D is really easy to get back on the road, fix it and off you go.

Cat D just means that it would be more expensive for them to fix it than buy new. It doesn't mean that it's not fit for the road. I'm sure you could put it back on the road for far less than the insurance company and still have money left in your pocket

i was offered 3.4k for my 36 hour old sv also. after a mear 2 months they finally paid out the full amount. how did they decide? after writing about 4 times, speaking to them and doing everything they asked, they finaly asked for the phone number of the dealer and asked them what i paid for it.
they r absolute sh&ts! id probably go as far to say they r the scum of the earth.... anyway, they will ask for proff of what u paid for it probably so try to find a receipt. how old was the bike? make sure u tell them ull have to buy a new one as second hand ones wont be new enough to replace the condiction urs was in. insurance company's seem about as interested in helping their existing customers as i am in stamp collecting. bear with it and just ask to speak to ehir manager each time u hit a wall. good luck and enjoy! |

You can knock £500+ off the value of a bike as soon as you leave the shop. That's the way it is.

No it will all ready be registered now as a crash damaged bike. You are, by law, required to mention when selling the bike that it has been involved in a CAT D accident
