Default K6 rear brake light pressure switch.

Tried looking through old posts but couldnt really find anything, so.....

Noticed this evening that my rear brake switch wasnt working on my pointy K6s when I checked it out expecting the spring to come off as it used to occasionally on the curvy, but mines been fitted with a pressure switch

A previous owner has fitted some aftermarket rear sets

found this which might explain it:

http://www.gbmotoracingparts.com/gbm...1000-159-p.asp

anyone else any experience with pressure switches?

Anyone want some aftermarket rear sets, lol, I just want a standard ish sv.

Hi Lee - me again!

I've got one fitted on my track bike, with GBMoto rearsets. Bike hasn't got lights now, but did for a while and it worked fine as long as the brake was bled properly.

Which rearsets are fitted to yours, do you know?

Goodridge also do a pressure switch, got one on mine for the same reason, built into the master cylinder banjo bolt. if it's clapped then it's clapped, whack a new one on, mine's been on for many years/miles and still fine. The Goodridge one had plain ends I think but it's not a problem for me anyway to wire up.

Hi mate, if these are GB Moto rearsets I may be interested in the gear side (or the mounting plate specifically). Any pics? Any chance of that?

Cheers

Mine is fitted with the GBMoto rearsets as in the link, way overkill for an everyday commuter bike, even my odd weekend blasts dont justify £200 rear sets!

A mate at work noticed one of the wires has broke on the switch, the wiring wasnt supported so jiggled itself back and forth, and broke, right where it goes into the switch.

Havent had it off yet, but Im guessing its epoxied in and snapped there otherwise I could solder and heatshrink a reapair.

The pressure switches are great, so easy to install, no worrying about springs etc. Got mine off a daytona 675. Just replace it I say

As you say the wiring just emerges from a blob of epoxy so odds are you can't repair it. Give it a look though, might be a metal stub sticking out and you can solder onto it.

Anyone know what thread pitch is needed for k6 rear brake pressure switch, ive found 2 sizes avaiable, m10x1 and m10x1.25.

Cheaper to sort my rear brake than remove the rear sets
