Sounds good, so long as it doesn't clash with her asses milk bath...

Friend hired a 7.5 tonne wagon with me has a named driver. When rental staff did the DVLA check of my paper licence the young lad was confused by the print out. The other assistant said it was okay I had "Granddad" rights due to my age! That made me smile, age does have its advantages even though I am not old enough for a Bus Pass!

Lovely dad and daughter shopping trip, first we've done for a couple of months, as Christmas, work & illness have stopped our weekend outings. Plus the ****e weather & nothing on at the cinema meant it was the only option.

A trip to just outside Brighton for the 65th birthday of Stu's uncle . Very good lunch, nice to see everyone and the birthday boy insisted on picking up the bill, there were 22 of us but we were told no arguments. Even the M25 was clear of traffic.

Morrisons. Thankfully I cycled there this morning (it's less than a mile away and I was only after fresh salad stuff) but the site of the rammed car park had me dreading the experience. How wonderful then to get inside the store to find it almost completely devoid of people! There are no barriers to their car park and it's only a two minute walk away from the main shopping centre so it would seem parents on half term decided it was fine to spend £30 on bowling followed by Frankie & Benny's with their kids and avoid the measly £2 it would cost to park there. It must have put people off going to Morrisons, which was fine with me, but the guys in hi-viz noting reg numbers to see if people were abiding the notices about the limited free parking as long as you are also a genuine shopper were very busy. Not sure if I want these freeloaders to get penalty tickets or not - on days like this I don't mind but I do sometimes need to go there in the car on the way home for bulkier things at which point they're a flippin' nuisance.

Never surprised by the lengths some people will go to to avoid even the smallest parking charge - must be driving supermarkets crazy when they supply free parking near other facilities and freeloaders pack them out but don't buy anything from you. Our local Asda charges for parking but deducts it from your bill in the store, seems sensible to me.

Today I took cakes into work. Nothing new there. But on this occasion I asked for a small donation towards an org member's fundraising - she's running the marathon for Guide Dogs with a sighted guide.

It raised £45, including one donation from a colleague who is on a diet. She refused a cake but made me promise to take Lewis the dog up for a cuddle next time he visits.

those cakes look gorgeous LPH. I've just had dinner but could easily tuck into a few of those!

Thank you. The pink ones are lemony. I got home tonight to a £25 premium bond win. I'm going to spend it taking my nephew to London tomorrow.
