Re: Films I've watched recently...
I wouldn't know if they are any good. I've only watched 3 of the 100.

Re: Films I've watched recently...
Deadpool, thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Got a bit bored with the other Marvel stuff, but this was different

Truth, watched this on Sky this morning, true story & great acting about 'George W Bush's' dodging of getting out of going to Vietnam. This is the story of the '60 minutes' news reporting of the cover up. A good watch

Went to the cinema to see this, as my youngest is into gaming. Save your money, unless you're into the game

Re: Films I've watched recently...
Star wars Rouge One at the cinema.. better than The Force Awakens. i did not like the force awakens as it was the sameold story just made new. Rouge One however is pure Star Wars.
Legend Of Tarzan.. i enjoyed it. The Jungle Book (new).. yup its ok but not as good as the original animated one. Pete's Dragon (new).. yup its a good one. Warcraft.. complete and utter fantasy spectacular, good in my view. Suicide Squad.. good for a laugh and i enjoyed it. |

Force Awakens was mostly utter garbage, I've tied to watch it again, but it still didn't get my attention.

Re: Films I've watched recently...
TBH i enjoy most movies unless they are really bad. i watch movies for what they are and that is an escape from reality. i cant stand it when people say 'but its not like the book' well ermmm of course its not as its moving images not written words and you cant fit a book that would take say 2 days to read into 2hrs watching time, something has to give. the script writers do the best they can and the director interprets the script and directs the actors into hopefully giving their best.
if I dont like a movie then I turn it off but dont put others off just because I never liked it is my philosophy. i'm also one of those people that will watch favourite movies on a regular basis because i enjoy watching a particular movie due to it making me 'feel' a certain way and yes i also cry, laugh, flinch, etc.etc while watching |

Re: Films I've watched recently...
Most of the books i read are peoples biographies, and mostly cycling related, so not much chance of it turning inyo a film. Last film (s) based on a book i'd read would have been Lord of the Rings trilogy, which met my expectations in many ways. Glad i saw it on the big screen, as it isn't as good on the tv.
I can usually tell fairly quickly if im going to like a movie, and will ignore any rating. I didn't expect to like Deadpool, but it was fab, but something like Avatar i just got bored with it. I still find favourites a great watch, for instance The Great Escape, a great movie. Blazing Saddles, Airplane, and Young Frankenstein still make me laugh, even though i know all the gags.
