Default swing arm play

ok so i seem to have some play in my swing arm side to side sort of play not a lot but more noticeable harder you push.

any advice on what could be causing it ? the spacers fit well in the bearings with no noticeable play and the axle fits in the spacers with no noticeable play but when on the bike there's play (unless its the abba stand but will check that out to moz)

can any one confirm that i have done all the bolts properly, preferably dont just read out he Haynes i have one of them already more so personal experiences

k3 bike, place axle through right side of frame and through swing arm and then tighten to 15nm using 17mm hex key, fit left side nut to 100nm while counter holding the 17mm hex/axle then spin the castle nut on the out side of the right hand side of the axle and do up to 90nm ?

im going to get some one to sit on the bike while on the abba stand to make sure its not the stand that has play and give the swing arm another tug and then take the rear wheel off and give it a go as well

They're meant to do that, according to Suzuki...

Are the shims something you can make up easily Davie? Although would everyone possibly need different sizes of shims depending on how bad the play is on their bike? I don't think I'd feel confident measuring it accurately myself

I made three different sizes:

0.30mm
0.40mm
0.50mm

then I put different combinations in and fitted the swing arm pivot, felt the play, removed the pivot swapped shims and refitted untill I was happy with the feel.

I had nearly 1.10mm of end float, and from memory put in 0.90mm of shims to allow the swing arm to move freely with as little as possible end float.
