Sounds like a bit of air in the system, has it got the original rubber brake hose on too?

Could be a combination of both and maybe the fluid needs changing?

Could be the master cylinder seal on the way out.

But I'd bleed the brakes first, before suspecting this. With the age of you bike KJ, I'd think about replacing the rear hose when you can afford it.

If there's no leaks and the brakes work, it should only be air, hoses or the M/C seal

Took my bike out for a quick hoon last night and everything seemed to be working fine.
I decided to take the bike to work as the weather was great for it.
I hit the motorway at just before 7 and took a "brisk" ride up the m1 to the m6.
I met up with a cbr around the coventry area and if I ever meet the guy I'd like to shake his hand
We "progresed briskly" up the m6 with a bit of "assertive filtering" and its one of the best rides to work I've had in ages.
He headed up the m6 toll and I went the old way to brum.
Both of us looked across and gave the thumbs up as we split up
The tunnels on the a38 still sound great at 12000 revs
And I got to work at half 7

The bike seems fine and is running very well too

I checked the battery with a multi meter when I got home tonight and everything is as it should be.

Not really sure why we're hanging onto it. I think maybe neither of us wants to face being alone. Without me and the kids all he's got is his job. And i dont like the prospect of being 39, single mum of 3, skint and alone!!
