I'm planning on doing Mallory on Sat 7th (£20 more but saves a day holiday) or Fri 13th. Just waiting for new brake lines to arrive so I can get them fitted before booking up. Will do the 7th if it's looking dry, if not I may see you there on the 13th.

I've ridden about 20 miles in the last 2 years and it's 3 years since I've done a trackday, so I may be a bit rusty...

Anyone doing Mallory tomorrow? Weather looks good and my suspension improvements seem to be working so I'll be wobbling around with the novices.

Go at your own pace buddy, let the faster lads crack on and just make sure you enjoy yourself!
I'm jealous as the weather is supposed to be warm and sunny this weekend.
Stick some pics up over the weekend mate.

Mallory was excellent - dry, warm and sunny all day. I like the track more than I was expecting as well. Bike was good, only problem was occasionally bottoming out the forks under heavy braking, hopefully a slightly higher oil level will sort that. Shame that there weren't any other SVs to play with, by the end of the day I could hold my own through the bends with many of the sports bikes but got a bit swamped on the start-finish straight!

Sounds like a perfect day Jon.

Be careful just adding heavier oil without getting it looked at properly. You might need higher rated springs (£80 for ohlins) or just setting up properly/serviced.

JHS Racing is in Bristol still I think, might be worth giving them a call as they used to be a SV specialist (I'm going back to 2003 when I went to them) and if you are doing a few more would be worth the money getting the suspension sorted

I've already changed the springs, hopefully I just need to tweak the oil level / air gap. My google based knowledge provided a range of levels to start with so I went on the low side on the basis that it's easier to add a bit than remove a bit. I'll top up to the standard level and see how it feels, it was only noticeable a couple of times when I had to brake a bit harder than I wanted to...

I'll probably will get some setup advice once my riding has improved a bit, but will probably do it at a track day rather than a static setup that JHS could do. I got my rear spring from them, they're still doing good things with SVs by all accounts.
