Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
I don't thunk there will be any need for markers. There will be an itinerary given to each rider showing each stop off/lunch break etc. Coz it's gonna be a bimble faster bikes will obviously go on ahead if they wish. Spending half the time hoping ur on the right road adds to the fun. Everyone is their own responsibility. If someone fancies having a go at crossing France on their own without any prep then good luck . I think the 1st special stage should be 3 laps of the roundabout at the ark of triumph or however the silly people say it lol

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
So for those who've put their names down and those interested....... what sort of bikes will you be realistically looking at? Aged sports tourers, or something comical and small.
I'm preferring the idea of comical and small, but don't fancy pootling along on me tod while you all roar off on your Yammy diversions and the like.

I'm in.

I've seen some bigger bikes in the right money but have decided to overlook them on the basis that they're not hilarious enough. |

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
Markers??? its not a rideout ya knows
Seriously, point, squirt, and meet up later when everyones finally got to destination agreed on. I am pleased that this is actually being taken seriously, I'm even more pleased that the idea of charity, particularly H4H, has been thought of. I also like the 'banter thread' for banter, and the serious thread in Eurotour. Excellent Mr Electro!

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
Apart from a huge laugh, it's a great opportunity for fundraising for those that want to do it.
I'm already raising money for a local charity over the next year and intend to do this for them, as I've set myself a target. I'll be paying my own costs obviously so I'm hoping we're doing this on a shoestring in terms of accommodation on the way etc. |

Re: The SV650.org Top Gear Cross Europe Biking Challenge
Well as I said in the other thread, I shall be following closely now....so closely, because the route goes past my best mates house, now I couldn't possibly get two kids on the back of an old shed like they do in India.......but its a good excuse to a) keep you lot in check, and b) make an excuse to do a long awaited trip to an old friend c) CAR(at leaast for half way) d) if theres any poofs they 'might' be able to camp in a fellow bikers garden,.....read that as an acre of land
