Default Handlebar conversion

Hi guys I am thinking of biting the bullet and ordering a comfort kit from Topyokes. The thing is after reading a lot of different ways of doing a handlebar conversion or convertibar etc I’m still unsure of the full kit I need and keeping the cost down. It’s annoying I didn’t think further ahead because I fitted HEL front braided lines about 6 month ago and after messaging Matt I’m told I need longer ones as I got the sv650s. Do I need longer throttle and clutch cables? It says they can be rerouted but some threads I’ve read said they seemed only just long enough. The kit comes with a top yoke, brake lines and extensions for the bars.

I was considering getting a new bike but I’ve done too much to it to get rid, she’s a gem. The seating position is killing my back and wrists though now, especially since I got the gsxr shock and re sprung it. I’ll get the kit from anywhere if it’s as good as Topyokes looks. I’m a machinist and from the pictures they look well made, thick and out of good grade material.

My bikes an Sv650s K4, faired

Get a bandit clutch cable from Wemoto (can't remember the year .. Bibio?). Get longer brake lines and throttle cables from Venhill (order the normal ones and let them know to make them a bit longer... approx 6cm?... check what you have already and how much more you need. You can leave them a comment when you place the order or send them a message as soon as you've put your order though with your order number and additional instructions). Get the Topyokes kit but try and get cables and bars elsehwere. Matt sent me wrong stuff, wrong profile bars and cables with wrong ends and lengths. Took a while to sort out. So just try to get the topyoke and riser clamps from him.

Be prepared for a wait for Topyokes delivery. They can take a month or two.

I also found the Renthal "Ultra Low" bars to be high enough. I tried the "low" version first and found them too upright.

I actually read the problems you had and a few others. I’m half an hour away from Lancaster so was hoping to pick it up, seems like one of the reasons for Topyokes late deliveries is waiting on cables and anodising. Might get a plain aluminium one there and pick it up, and do as you said and order the other bits of stuff separately. It’s good to know about the bandit clutch cable I’ll have a search for which one will work

Look up the 2005 Bandit 650 on Wemoto. That's the clutch cable I used.

I've recently doe the same with my ZX6r but used an ABM kit from Germany. Arrived in just over a week. I selected slightly lower rise bars than standard again and pleased I did. The clutch cable they gave me is a bit too long though, and turns out I didn't need the brake lines as I swapped out the brakes for later model ones that have the fixings for the lines higher up. Decent kit though. As expensive as the Topyokes. I just didn't fancy messing around with Topyokes again.

Cheers for those! I’ll order them today, saved me loads of time. How did you find the quality of the yoke you bought?

It's a big slab of metal. Not much to it. Both Topyokes and ABM seem decent. They should be for the money too.
