Default c40 error code

Would have been my smile of the day, but just a short distance into my ride I spotted the FI light on. Dealer mode suggests "-c40" but I'm struggling to find this code anywhere

Ran fine last about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Seemed to run fine today - nothing seemed out of sort apart from the warning.

Follow up question- where is the idle adjustment screw on the fully faired k9? Do I need to remove the bodywork?

I'm trying to remember where it was on my k04, probably in the same place. I'll have a think.

It should be visible on the left side poking out of the trellis frame. Saying that I've read that it might have disappeared on later models and managed by the ecu. I've also read that it was just the extension cable that's been removed and you can adjust the stop screw directly on the left hand of the front throttle body where the throttle cable connects.

on all twin spark SV's there aint one as its automatic and can't be adjusted. for this very reason you can't adjust the TB's as the auto idle needs to be locked in place and you need an electronic gizmo to do so.

if your having problems with the bike cutting out whilst coming to a stop then its either the clutch switch or the sidestand switch.... if it is dont bypass then or it screws with the idle.

No noticeable problems apart from the FI warning. The idle when warm is very slightly above 1000rpm, so presumably a bit low.

have you lifted the tank recently? sometimes the vacuum pipes get kinked or the TB bungs for the vacuum spigot perish.

any twin spark SV bike will not have idle high or low when warm and only slightly high when cold.

check the ISC connector for moisture. its a sealed unit so it can trap moisture.

from the genuine suzuki SV K7 onwards manual supplement.

Bike magazine mentions the C40 code this month in relation with the GSXR750. It's a known problem with after market clutch levers not engaging with the clutch cutout switch properly. Do you have standard levers?
