I'm tempted by the snake pass:
holme moss, quick dash down a629, through to glossop, onto the snake pass and back via "unlisted roads" over the strines moor then back to huddersfield. I'll be setting off from mirfield west yorks at about 11am-12pm ish so if anyones interested, I might get the helmet cam gear and DV camera on charge. cheers, p dubz

p.s. if the snake pass inn is open we could stop for some chow

assuming you'll be coming from the opposite side of glossop (or even more south than that) so would you want to meet at the tesco petrol station just outside glossop town centre?

Erm... Lads its going to be sooooooo cold! Its snowing where I am, hope the weather clears up so I can go home in the morning.

Dunno, but it must involve being inside all the time.

Paul: fancy meeting up somewhere around Penistone or on the Sheffield end of Woodhead (A62

. Only problem I see is that normally, Snake is the first to shut if it does snow.

Traffic England.com has the local temperature at the end of the stocksbridge bypass at -1 presently, so it might be touch and go on being open.

I went through the Snake pass and a few roads on Saturday lunch time.....

WORD OF CAUTION!!!

1) There was a camera van there - stopped spoke to them, wasn't a busy day apparently LOL
2) Water in a few spots on the road that the sun doesn't get to - especially on corners - this might turn to black ice with these temps!!!
3) Very windy and loads of sheep on the road!!! Been going through that road for the past 4 years first time that I had to slow down just incase one of those decided to get upgraded to a yamaha sheep
