Default Safety Recall

Hi,
Just been into my bike mechanics to arrange fitting new tyres & MOT. I asked about service & he asked if i had been informed of a safety recall regarding my SV650s crankshaft ?? Apparently there's a major problem with them and Suzuki are going to announce a recall. He's not sure how far it goes back (mines 07 plate) but it could be affected.

Anyone else heard of this recall ?

worried

Dale

Nope the original 98/99 bikes had to get new motors as the oil pump was defective

I got a recall letter within a few months of buying my SY model curvy new in Sept '99, it was to do with the oil pump having had a modification, one engine had blown up so Suzuki were presumably not taking any chances. The work was quickly done by my dealer and I still have the bike now.

Make sure you're not low on oil ever and change it + filter at least once a year and don't reguarly bounce it off the rev limiter then you should have no problems.
