That's a shame. But at least we now know of another supplier that's perhaps best to avoid. Mental note made

Meaco, the final chapter in my dehumidifier story. I received an email from them today saying they don't sell parts to the public (I wanted to buy a regen fan motor). So they wouldn't look at my machine because I'd stripped it to clean it and once I got off my backside and found the problem they wouldn't sell me a part. I told them they seem to have lost the "customer" aspect of customer service.

I have found a motor but it's of poorer quality than the one that was fitted (didn't think that was possible). I have it running on the bench to see if it will last for an hour (it shouldn't run that long in normal operation). The windings are already at 79°C though after 30 mins.

The zip on my jacket broke ... and I went onto the riding gear forum to report it on the original thread, and the thread has gone. I guess six years is a reasonable time for a jacket to last, but it feels like yesterday. Jackets are really expensive now!

Zip should be replaceable by any competent repairer. (If you can find one )

And definitely cheaper than a new jacket - you're right about the cost of those!

I don't even know where to start with finding someone to repair a zip ... apart from youtube, which would likely end in a mess.

Have a look for a shop that does alterations or leather repairs.
